In today's world, computer viruses are becoming more and more advanced and antivirus software just can't keep up with this anymore. The name suggests the program's functionality. It is able to synchronize and back up the user's folders online, keeping them safe.

The program is a Windows application and can be installed on almost any version of this Microsoft operating system, including XP and Windows 7. The installation process requires only a few clicks to complete and can be used by anyone. During the installation process, PowerFolder detects if Java is installed on the computer and if not, it automatically does this for you.

After running the program for the first time, a small window is displayed, asking the user to enter his email address and password for the online account. If he hasn't got one, he can easily create it on the producer's website. He will then get 1GB of storage space for free. After having done this, one just needs to select the folders that he wants to synchronize and also configure the interval of time for synchronization. This can be done by using a simple step by step wizard.

Using the same wizard, the user can download backed up files at any moment. Syncing can also be done manually.

The program's Options section allows configuring its functionality and also the look and feel. Thus, there are a lot of skins available for changing the interface. Besides that, PowerFolder supports various plugins, for extending its functionality.
